Tracking the historical changes influencing women artists, this exhibition explores the similarities and differences between the status and careers of women working in different areas within the fine and decorative arts fields as reflected in the collections of the Walker Art Gallery.

Local enamel artist Ruth Ball is displaying some of her beautiful pieces from her collection of enamelled jewellery and decorative objects in the Walker Art Gallery in an exhibition called Glass, Metal & Fire.

Aubrey Williams: Atlantic Fire
15 January - 11 April 2010
An exhibition of paintings by the renowned Guyanese artist Aubrey Williams. The exhibition includes a selection of Williams’ vibrant large scale oil paintings. Exploring an eclectic range of inspiration from Mayan motifs to the work of composer Russian Shostakovich, his work is intensely alive with colour and motion.

Aubrey Williams is an important modern artist whose paintings resist classification.

Walker Art Gallery (January - March 2010)
National Museums Liverpool has four wonderful galleries, each with its own distinct themes and world class collections.  Six centuries of the finest fine and decorative arts in Europe can be explored at the Walker Art Gallery. It also contains Big Art for Little Artists, an interactive gallery for children to explore the collection through games, costumes, books and fun arts and crafts. Open daily 10am-5pm, Free entry
