Hope Street Limited presents

Hans Christian Andersen's
The Emperor's New Clothes
in conjunction with Unity Theatre, unityangels and
Random Acts of Wildness.

Venue: Unity Theatre, 1 Hope Place, Liverpool, L1 9BG.

Tuesday 2nd December, 2008 to Saturday 17th January, 2009.
Emperor Bling is a proud and wealthy man but he hasn't got a thing to wear! In his huge palace he has a huge walk in wardrobe full of the finest clothes, in fact he cares more for his clothes than he does his citizens.
Beginning to feel unpopular and in an attempt to win back some admiration, he hires two dodgy tailors, who promise him the finest suit of clothes from the most beautiful cloth. What could go wrong?

Is there life after
'Capital of Culture'?

During 2008, hope street's director, Peter Ward, has been sharing the information he gathered during his tour around Europe last year. He researched the impact that Capital of Culture had on the small and medium sized arts organisations of each city.

Dubrovnik

He has made presentations to the Arts Council England, LARC, the Small & Medium Arts Collective (SMAC) and at the Euro Cities and Community Xchange Network’s conferences. He has also informed the Cultural Strategy for Liverpool and presented to the Scrutiny Panel appointed to oversee the implementation of the strategy.

Turkey

Peter also visited Creation Centres with a view to developing a similar centre for Liverpool. His research took him to Turkey, Croatia, Greece, Romania, Portugal, Poland, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands and France.
