Philippa Hadley Choy is a UK-based artist working in sculpture. Her work plays with the pure idea of sculpture, often reinterpreting existing works into new forms. During her residency Choy is creating a new series which takes influence from Baroque Italian master Bernini and responds to her surroundings at the Centre.
Choy presents her new works which reference Bernini, feet and Chinese cultural & artistic tradition in an evening Open Studio event on Thursday 18 December 2008. More details>>

Sin Yi Law

For Sin Yi Law, food of all cultures is art in itself. Her delicate crayon drawings work to express the pleasure in the anticipation and enjoyment of food. Each mark is an attempt to draw up a sense of taste and excitement. For the First Step exhibition at Chinese Arts Centre, Sin Yi presents a series of simply presented new drawings and projection which celebrate the pleasure derived from food. More details>>
