The Liverpool Nativity
Be part of a spectacular and unforgettable live music event and watch the Liverpool Nativity take place in the streets of Liverpool.
William Brown Street on Sunday 16th December 2007 at 20.00

As part of the lead up to the European Capital of Culture 2008 celebrations, BBC Three will turn the city into a stage for the dramatic and contemporary re-telling of the Nativity this Christmas. Music from Liverpool’s rich legacy will provide the soundtrack to the production, with tracks from The Beatles, The La’s and The Zutons being performed with a fresh twist by the characters and live orchestra.

The star studied cast includes Geoffrey Hughes (The Royle Family, Keeping Up Appearances) as the Angel Gabriel,Jennifer Ellison (Brookside) as an Angel, Cathy Tyson (Band of Gold) as the villainous Herodia and Paul Barber (The Full Monty, Only Fools and Horses) playing the landlord. This wonderful evening’s entertainment is a perfect way to celebrate the Christmas period.

You can play your part by coming along to William Brown Street on Sunday 16th December at 8.00pm. Don’t forget to bring a torch to illuminate the night sky, making the night even more magical.

There are no tickets for the event, simply turn up. The performance will be broadcast live on BBC Three at 8pm on Sunday, 16 December.

The hour-long production will use familiar songs from Liverpool’s great pop legacy to bring the story to life.

Developed by the team behind The Manchester Passion, the mammoth production will involve over 300 cast and 150 technical crew and will be the springboard for Liverpool’s year as European Capital of Culture 2008.
