Deadline: Wednesday 9 March 2016.

Artist-Architect Residency Opportunity with The Bureau Centre for the Arts (Blackburn)

Context

Super Slow Way is part of Creative People and Places, a national action research programme funded by Arts Council England to test out new and experimental approaches to arts and cultural activity in order to build audiences and participants in areas currently shown to have low levels of engagement. For more information please visit www.superslowway.org.uk

The Bureau is a vibrant arts centre in the heart of Blackburn, providing versatile space for arts activities, theatre, music, cultural events and community participation. The Bureau has a running programme of regular activities, one off events as well as available gallery space and space to hire for workshops, clubs and events. For more information please visit www.bureaublackburn.co.uk

Artist Brief

We are looking for an artist to work with us on a part time flexible basis over a six to twelve month period as part of the team to help us develop ideas around the use of space in this context. This will be someone with vision and architectural experience who can help us explore possibilities for making better use of the space as an Arts Centre.

There is a fee of approximately £9,000 attached to this residency. There is an additional materials budget available. For more information please visit http://superslowway.org.uk//news/artist-call-out-the-bureau-blackburn
