SATURDAY 25 June 2011 – 11.00 – 16.00. The 6th Annual Newsham Park Arts Festival
This event is a performing, creative and visual arts festival supported by many fringe activities. It is for local schools, the local community and the people of Liverpool.
Aims
• To promote good use of our beautiful Newsham Park
• To produce an arts event as prestigious as the ones in Sefton Park
• To offer enriching activities to the Kensington and Fairfield community calendar
• To raise arts and cultural awareness
• To bring different cultures together
• To raise aspirations in the local community
• To provide performance and creative arts opportunity for the local/wider community
• To promote community cohesion
• To reduce anti social behaviour
• To provide an opportunity for artists, agencies and providers to meet with the community
Format/structure of the event
• 2 large stages- 1st for bands and singers 2nd for Dance
• Gallery/exhibition space
• A market place for agencies and providers
• A market place for arts and craft sales stalls
• Refreshments vendors
• Sports activities
• Fringe exhibits etc
